Jorge Lorenzo admitted Yamaha team bit complacent

Jorge Lorenzo praised the hard work that demonstrated the Repsol Honda team this season. Jorge Lorenzo admitted Yamaha team bit complacent after winning MotoGP the last three seasons.

After last won the MotoGP through Nicky Hayden in 2006, Honda make significant changes in order to break the dominance of the Yamaha team in the last three years. The results were quite successful, after Casey Stoner to 44 points while winning over Lorenzo, leaving four series.

Jorge Lorenzo claimed signs of revival Honda have looked after their hard work at the end of 2010. Instead, the Spanish rider was assessed Yamaha team complacent after mastering MotoGP tittle the last three years.

"I think the Honda is very fast and competitive by the end of last season, and this year is much faster. They took a step last season, and took another step this season," Jorge Lorenzo said as quoted by Autosport.

"We won three consecutive world titles, so logically if we were a bit quiet and did not take many risks. Yamaha has won a lot of things and do a great job. But now lagging far enough," said Jorge Lorenzo.

Although Honda was quick to admit, Jorge Lorenzo did not think capable of only 44 points behind Casey Stoner. "The surprise is only 44 points. Stoner dominated the championship and won many series. Only 44 points behind is not bad," said Lorenzo.
